You want your vacation to be memorable. Just to make sure your experience is as carefree as possible, keep these travel tips in mind:
Plan your daily itineraries.
Make the most of your precious vacation time.
Set your budget and stick to it.
You don’t need to blow your budget to have a great time! Your vacation memories will be fonder if you don’t feel the financial pinch afterward.
Leave a copy of your itinerary.
Before you set out, remember to leave your travel information with someone back home in case of an emergency.
Confirm your reservations.
Be sure to bring along those confirmation numbers! Mix-ups happen sometimes and you don’t want to spend your vacation time straightening them out. Call ahead to make sure your travel arrangements and rental car reservations are all in place.
Purchase traveler’s checks.
There are a multitude of ways to pay these days. You can pay with your phone, a debit card, a credit card, cash and yes, even a traveler’s checks. Yes, they do still exist – just check out the American Express website! You may come across a rare situation where you are low on cash, a credit card or ATM is not available and out-of-town checks are not accepted (honestly, who takes personal checks on vacation – I don’t even use them at home). Traveler’s checks will save the day! Plus they can be replaced if lost or stolen.
And remember to bring them along!
Pick Up Visitor Information.
Check out free visitor’s guides you’ll find at Visitor Information Centers and rest stops. They often include coupons for discounts and special offers that will make your trip even sweeter!
